Cationic Surfactants for Hair Conditioners

Hair conditioners require a deliberate balance of deposition, combability, texture, rinse feel, processability and compatibility with the rest of the formula.

Start with product form and conditioning target

High-active C22 grades such as BT85, 22TC and BTMS support rich conditioning systems, while BTMS50 provides a convenient blend for structured emulsions. C18 quaternary grades and amidoamines offer additional routes when the target sensory profile, process or cost structure differs.

Screening should consider active content, counterion, fatty chain, physical form, heating requirements, pH and interactions with surfactants, polymers, oils and silicones. Compare the full portfolio and read the C18 versus C22 guide.

Request conditioner ingredient samples for controlled laboratory evaluation.
